The 4 concerts are sold out

Yes, you heard it right. The Coldplay concerts on August 29 and 30, as well as September 1 and 2 at Croke Park, are officially sold out. Within minutes of the pre-sale starting, all categories were taken. From category 1 seating at 150 euros to standing room in the pit at 105 euros, no tickets are available.

    New tickets could become available

But don’t worry, dear fans. There is still hope. It is often the case that new seats are added regularly up until the event. Organizers do not sell all tickets in the first sales round. There are various reasons for this:

    Platinum or VIP packages

Platinum tickets or VIP packages that have not been sold are re-released a few days or weeks before the event. This can be an opportunity to secure last-minute tickets, often in highly coveted seating categories, with additional perks such as special access or exclusive souvenirs.

    Ticket returns

Customers may change their minds for various reasons, and their tickets are re-sold after being refunded and reissued. This means that even after the first wave of sales, tickets can reappear on official platforms, albeit sporadically.

    Infinity Tickets

In the specific case of Coldplay, a limited number of “Infinity Tickets” are made available for each concert to give fans a chance to attend the “Music of the Spheres” tour at a very low price. These tickets cost the equivalent of £20 / $20 / €20 per ticket and must be purchased in pairs. Infinity Tickets are allocated randomly anywhere in the venue – from the back row to the floor, including some of the best seats in the house. This initiative aims to allow more fans to experience Coldplay, regardless of their budget.

So, keep an eye open and check the official ticket platforms regularly. Sometimes tickets are just a click away.

If you don’t want to wait: Resales are the solution

If patience is not your strong suit and you want secure tickets immediately, there is still the possibility of turning to secondary markets like Viagogo. Although this platform is known for some controversies, it can be the last chance for many to see the concert.

Of course, there are pros and cons. Sellers can raise prices, which may be higher than the original ticket price. Caution is advised, as not all offers are fair. Nevertheless, it is a good alternative, especially if you absolutely want to attend a unique event. Coldplay tours take place on average every 2 to 3 years. Do you really want to wait that long?

I remember the Coldplay concert in 2017 when I also failed to get tickets. Secondary markets offered tickets, but I hesitated because of the additional costs. Now I regret it because I missed a magical experience.

Fan groups and forums: Another way to find tickets

Another viable option for securing tickets is through fan groups and forums. Many fans connect on platforms like Facebook groups, Reddit, and dedicated fan forums to buy and sell tickets. However, it is crucial to exercise caution when using these methods.

    • Verify the seller: Make sure the person you’re dealing with is trustworthy. Check their profile and look for any signs of past transactions.
    • Use secure payment methods: Avoid paying through unsecured methods like wire transfers. Use platforms that offer buyer protection.
    • Beware of scams: Unfortunately, scams are common in these communities. Many fans were scammed during the Taylor Swift concerts in Paris. Always be cautious and skeptical of offers that seem too good to be true.
