    Bahamas concert Dublin 2025

Canadian singer Bahamas announces Dublin show on 5 November 2025

One of Canada's most distinctive voices, Bahamas, is coming to Dublin this autumn with a concert confirmed for 5 November 2025 at The Workman's Club. Known for his laid-back blend of folk, yacht-rock and blues, the man behind the moniker, Afie Jurvanen, has a knack for crafting melodies that feel as familiar as your favourite wool jumper.

Jurvanen, who hails from Ontario, is a self-taught guitarist who first honed his craft backing artists like Feist before stepping confidently into the spotlight. Since releasing his debut album 'Pink Strat' in 2009, his music has charmed fans through understated lyrics, warm production and subtle introspection. His 2014 album 'Bahamas Is Afie' earned him Juno Awards and cemented his reputation as a songwriter with style and substance.

What truly sets Bahamas apart is how his music feels like a conversation with an old friend. The grooves are soft, but the insights cut deep, particularly on his more recent albums such as 'Sad Hunk' and 'Bootcut'. In both, he trades big choruses for clever wit and slow-burning hooks. The result? Songs that sound like they were written from a hammock but hit you like a spring cleaning of the soul.

We caught Bahamas live in London two years ago, and let us tell you—his stage presence is just as effortless as his music. Stripped-back yet totally captivating. At one point, he cracked a joke about misplacing his capo, then launched into a song that made us forget the room was standing only.

With his warm humour, intricate guitar work and breezy sound, expect his Dublin appearance to draw an eclectic crowd—fans of indie gems, dad-rock faithfuls, and curious newcomers alike. His work has also earned praise from Rolling Stone and The Guardian, with the latter noting his “knack for making even heartbreak sound hopeful” (source).

Bahamas' stop in the Irish capital is part of a European tour set to showcase his evolving catalogue and hint at new material. If his past shows are anything to go by, this Dublin date will rely less on effects and more on authentic connection through music.

And with The Workman’s Club’s cosy layout and killer acoustics, it might be the most fitting stage yet for this Canadian troubadour to do what he does best: sing songs that feel like home.

Next, a closer look at The Workman’s Club and what ticket fever is already brewing ahead of Bahamas' stop in Dublin…
